Welcome
The Charity Classic is a 75km circuit road cycle ride. The event starts and finishes at Cust Domain a large reserve in the township of Cust . The race starts in the reserve then heads on a downward section towards Rangiora. It then passes through the outskirts of Rangiora and heads to Loburn. From Loburn it passes through a rolling hill section towards the Ashley Gorge, finally turning left to a lovely downhill section onto German Road. One hill Somerhill then left back to the start Mill Road.
The ride does allow for bunch cycling. We strongly recommend that all particpants if you don't already know how to bunch ride to learn.
Click here if you would like to be set up on your bike. Correct posture and bike set up is important for comfort and safety whilst cycling.
The Canterbury Charity Hospital Trust is a registered charitable trust formed to provide free, elective day surgery and medical outpatient clinics for those who would otherwise not have access to them. All proceeds from the event go directly to the hospital with funds used as part of the ongoing administration costs that occur when running the hospital.
2010 sees Canterbury Cycling assisting with the road management and timkeeping of the event. Funds received from supplying this part of the event will go directly through Canterbury Cycling and development of young cyclists in the Canterbury region.
Please note a charge of $50 will be charged for any timing chip and wheel holder not returned.
